WHAT IS SHAMANISM?
Shamanism is the path of direct revelation and is the oldest spiritual practice in the world. In shamanism, a shaman enters a trance state with the help of a drum, rattle or song in order to access another state of consciousness where s/he will meet with "Helping Spirits" in order to bring back information, guidance and healing for the person requesting assistance. The role of the shaman is to restore balance to the spirit of a person or place. The work is done with compassion, kindness and non-judgment. For a detailed explanation of what shamanism is, and isn't, an excellent resource is Sacred Hoop Magazine, published by Nicholas Breeze Wood. Special thanks to Nick who created this free issue for people to share worldwide. Here is the link: http://www.sacredhoop.org/Pages/FreeGuide.html
My work for others is centered around the shamanic journey, which is the primary practice of those on a shamanic path. I offer shamanic journeys to those who seek guidance and healing. I always work within sacred space and with my guides, or helping spirits. The helping spirits and I are partners in this work and I would never attempt it without them. We are a team. A shamanic journey can bring back information, soul parts, gifts, a connection with an ancestor or power animal, or all of the above. Usually a cleansing or clearing of energies or intrusions is necessary. Sometimes there is a suffering soul who is brought to "The Light", which is called psychopomp work. Other times a past life healing or ancestral healing will be required. Everything that occurs is with the intention of bringing about an energetic shift so that healing can take place. The paths that have called me are Norse and Siberian and both use the voice as a means of doing the work, so singing is often involved, as well as drumming. No two sessions are the same, as each individual has their own needs and Spirit channels through me and guides me in the work once we begin. This work is done with love, respect, compassion and non-judgment. Sessions are private and can last approximately 60-90 minutes. I hold sessions at Wolf Garden, a beautiful location here in Huntington Station, NY and I also make house calls. If you are interested in scheduling a session with me, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We will plan a time to talk on the phone for about 10-15 minutes to discuss your needs, the session and fee/exchange. If we determine we are a good fit, we will then schedule a session to work in person.
SHAMANIC WORKSHOPS & JOURNEY CIRCLES
I lead a monthly shamanic Journey Circle, The Juniper Tree Journey Circle, for those who are already practiced in doing shamanic journeying. I also teach workshops to help others learn to do shamanic journeying so that they can incorporate this practice into their lives and participate in journey circles. I teach this mainly in groups, but am also willing to teach shamanic journeying in private sessions. Please contact me at: email@example.com.
I am very happy to lead Prayer Circles to send out peace, love, healing and blessings to those in our world who are in need, and to our Mother Earth herself. In the Fall of 2016 I led many Prayer Circles for Standing Rock and for our world. If you would like me to lead a Prayer Circle for you or your group, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
THE PEACE TREE, OR PRAYER TREE
The creation of a Peace Tree, or Prayer Tree is a practice that comes from Siberian shamanism. I offer to create Peace Trees for communities where a chosen tree is blessed, the space around it cleared and blessed, and people can loosely place fabric ties (khadags) to its trunk and branches as a form of prayer. This does not harm the tree when done properly. Peace Trees help bring communities together. If you would like me to help create a Peace Tree in your community, please contact me at: email@example.com.
I create personalized power objects for those who request them. These can include paintings, hand-painted drums (client provides the drum), spirit dolls, jewelry, staves, and other objects. My work is done with love and I will only create objects for those who have an intention to use them in a sacred way, with love and for healing. Each power object is one-of-a-kind and unique to the person for whom it is made. When creating a power object, I work in sacred space and first do a shamanic journey to ask what the object needs to look like and what materials are required before I begin. Often the person's ancestors or other helping spirits will show me what to make in a journey and I am always guided by Spirit until the work is done. At the end of the process, the object receives a blessing before presenting it to the client. To request a power object, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
