Photos of my art exhibitions

Here are just a few photos of some of my art exhibitions over the years. I have photos from more recent shows and as soon as I find them, I'll add them here. These were all good times for me. I hope you enjoy looking at them. :)

The invitation to the PAAS Gallery Show (Polish American Art Society) in NYC, 1992. It was a two-person show, and the other artist, Wojcek Giza had the same invitation but with an image of his work on them.

PAAS Gallery ~ here is me and Wojcek in front of one of his paintings. He did cool stuff!

PAAS Gallery ~ me and my Dad.

PAAS Gallery ~ someone looking at my work.

PAAS Gallery ~ with friends Paul (left) and Douglas Craig (right). Douglas and I were together for years, but this was before we started dating.

PAAS Gallery ~ me and a very dear friend.

PAAS Gallery - being interviewed by journalists from a Polish newspaper. And no, I don't speak Polish... that's why I never got to read what they wrote about my art, which might have been a good thing depending on what they wrote!

"Female Point of View" group show at Outrlimits in Franklin Square, NY in 1993.

"Female Point of View" at Outrlimits.
I'm such a ham!

A solo show at Space Lab Gallery in Huntington, NY, back in 1993. Here I'm talking with my sister. :)
For three years I published an art magazine called The Exhibitioner and also guest-curated several art exhibitions in Sea Cliff, NY. This was taken at the first one in 1994.

This was from one of the shows I curated in 1994.
Behind me is the work of artist Andrea Nicolich.

Douglas and I at one of our juried shows in Sea Cliff, 1994.
In March of 1995, I had a solo exhibition at the Huntington Public Library and also did a slide lecture at the opening. The Library Director offered me this solo show in support of me, after hearing about my Federal court case involving censorship of my work at another public library. It was cool... *and*... I sold five paintings to someone who came to my lecture.

My solo show at Sea Cliff Gallery in 1995. Here I am with singer/author Rita Rose and gallery Director Don Mistretta, who has since opened a gallery in Locust Valley.

1-800-FLOWERS show in Manhattan, 1995.
(L-R): me, Jim McCann and Mike Stanko. Mike is a good friend of mine. He and I did this show together - his work was in another part of the store. And you might recognize Jim McCann from the commercials on t.v.
Here we are in front of my work... (from L-R): 1-800-FLOWERS Owner Jim McCann, my good friend Elizabeth Werter, Paul the gifted floral designer, me and Mike Stanko. Shortly after this show, Jim McCann bought one of my paintings ("Three Brides" - behind my head in this photo) and it still hangs in the 1-800-FLOWERS Headquarters in Carle Place, NY.

My painting "Lion Man" in front of a gorgeous arrangement of flowers made specially for the reception.

Me and Douglas.

Friends Mike Duggan and Elizabeth Werter.

Me with friend/artist Mario Sostre.

It was fancy. :)

1996 - a solo show at Sea Cliff Beach, as part of the
"Artists Without Egos" series. :)

Here I am in 1997, just before leaving to do a live painting
gig at a "gothic-themed" restaurant in NYC called the
Night Gallery Cafe. I'd paint on stage for four hours in exchange
for forty bucks and a really good meal. It was cool.

1997 ~ I painted this chair white, blue and gold, and added a seat belt and wings. It's called "Celestial Transport", and I got a lot of "mileage" out of it, as far as having fun with it and exhibiting it in various shows.

Testing it out at Planting Fields in Oyster Bay, NY.

A photographer happened to be at Planting Fields the day I went there with the chair and took some photos of us. I think we attracted some attention. :)

Drove it down to Kitty Hawk, NC. Here it is
in front of the Wright Brother's monument.

This kinda speaks for itself. lol

There it is. :)

At the Ghost Fleet Gallery in Nag's Head, NC (just down the road from Kitty Hawk), where the chair was in a group exhibition called "Wild Blue Yonder".

This was me in 1998 at my solo exhibition at
Framing Mantis Gallery in Williston Park, NY.

Me and my sister at my Mantis show.

A group of friends at the Mantis show. (From L-R): artist Andrea Nicolich, me standing behind sculptor Bill Tafuri, artist Darren Boerckel and good friend Elizabeth Werter, and artist/illustrator Scott Bakal.

Friend and very talented sculptor Bill Tafuri had just
gotten the cool old hearse to help transport his work.

Friends at the Mantis show ~ artist Andrea Nicolich
and actor Joe McKenna.

1998 ~ a solo show at the Barnes & Noble Cafe on East 54th Street in NYC.

B&N ~ I still have that poster announcing my show.

1998 ~ A Street Painting Festival in Glenwood Landing, NY. I won First Prize, which surprised me since I thought a lot of the other work there was much better than mine was. I was just having fun. :)

Here it is finished. I called it "Summer Spirit" since they made us name it something.

Me and my little painting "Sleep", which was accepted
into this juried exhibition in Riverhead, NY in 1998.

I'll have more soon!
